Biography

Henrique Goncalves is a fifth-year PhD candidate in Strategy & Entrepreneurship at the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business. His research examines how executives and firms react and adapt to technological disruptions, particularly artificial intelligence, the stakeholder conflicts and tradeoffs that arise during such transitions, and its impacts on both the firm and its stakeholders. He also studies how political ideology and ideological intensity shape strategic decision-making.

Henrique received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and his MBA from Notre Dame. Prior to entering academia, he spent several years working in the oil & gas, fintech, and software industries. Those experiences in the industry led him to the core questions that motivate his research today.
