Internal Transfer Process
Thank you for your interest in transferring to the Mendoza College of Business. The information below is for current Notre Dame first-year students. Students at other institutions interested in external transfer to the University of Notre Dame and the Mendoza College of Business will find important information on the Office of Undergraduate Admissions website.
Please note that only first-year students may apply to the Mendoza College of Business for transfer as rising sophomores.
How the Transfer Process Works
The Mendoza College of Business accepts a limited number of internal transfer students, with capacity varying each academic year as the University manages enrollment goals. An application for internal transfer is required; please see details and deadlines below.
Instructions for Current First-Year Students
Current Notre Dame first-year students interested in internal transfer to the Mendoza College of Business should:
- notify their academic advisor during an advising meeting of their intention to apply for internal transfer to Mendoza,
- use the "What-If" feature in the Graduation Progress System (or GPS, searchable on inside.nd.edu) to explore what courses will be accepted toward the business curriculum, and
- complete the Mendoza Internal Transfer Application (see link below) before the stated deadline.
Please note that additional semesters (beyond eight) will not be granted for the BBA degree. Thus, some internal transfer students may find it difficult to complete a desired second major or minor(s).
