What You'll Learn

Build greater command of strategy, finance, analytics, emerging technology, and organizational leadership, while strengthening your ability to make sound decisions that account for business priorities, people, and the long-term impact on organizations and communities.

Leadership and Self-Awareness

Your journey begins with the Now Irish orientation week in August, where you’ll participate in Executive Integral Leadership (EIL). This one-week intensive focuses on self-awareness and leadership development. You’ll gain a deep understanding of your strengths and how to lead more effectively from day one. Throughout the program, EIL principles are reinforced across the curriculum, supported by ongoing leadership assessments to track your growth and access to executive and leadership coaching to help you continuously refine your approach.

Global Foundations in Europe

In the fall, your entire cohort will participate in a required immersion experience in Europe tied to a global marketing course. You’ll explore the business landscape, cultural context, and strategic approaches of leading international organizations. This shared experience builds a strong foundation in global business and cross-cultural leadership—equipping you to think more broadly, lead more effectively, and engage international markets with insight.

Personalized Immersion Options

In addition to the required immersion in Europe, you’ll complete two additional immersions—one in the summer between your first and second year, and another in the spring of your final year. For each, you’ll choose between an international or U.S.-based experience, allowing you to tailor the journey to your industry, interests, or lifestyle. No matter the location, each immersion features hands-on, experiential learning and will be tied to the same course, giving you practical insight and the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in real business settings.

FAQs

QIs an Executive MBA still worth it for an experienced professional?

A

Experience becomes more valuable when you continue learning from it. The Notre Dame EMBA is designed for professionals who have already built successful careers, but recognize that greater responsibility brings more complex decisions. You’ll deepen your business expertise and examine how you lead, without stepping away from your career.

QHow is the Notre Dame EMBA designed for working professionals?

A

The 22-month program combines monthly Thursday–Saturday residencies on the Notre Dame campus, with immersive learning experiences in the U.S. and abroad. The format enables experienced professionals to remain active in their current roles, while regularly returning to campus to learn, collaborate, and apply new thinking to their work.

QWhat makes the Notre Dame Executive MBA different from other EMBA programs?

A

Notre Dame begins with a different definition of executive development. You’ll strengthen your command of strategy, finance, analytics, AI, and other business disciplines, while examining the human consequences of leadership. The objective is to make better business decisions and to bring a stronger ethical compass to how those decisions get made.

QHow will the Notre Dame EMBA change the way I lead?

A

You’ll begin by examining your own strengths and leadership approach through Executive Integral Leadership, then continue developing through coursework, collaboration, immersive experiences, and exposure to viewpoints different from your own. The result is not a prescribed leadership style, but rather greater clarity about the leader you are, and the one you want to become.
