Deloitte Consulting CEO Dan Helfrich to Speak at Notre Dame

The 2023 Dean's Speaker Series at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business will kick off this fall with a global business executive considered a pioneer in purpose-driven leadership. Dan Helfrich, chair and CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP, will speak at 11 a.m. ET on October 27 in Mendoza’s Jordan Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Helfrich, who has a 25-year career with Deloitte, was named CEO as of June 2, 2019. He previously led the organization’s Government & Public Services practice, where he headed large customer-centric transformations in the public sector, including the formation of the Transportation Security Administration. He earned a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from Georgetown University. As CEO, Helfrich leads a team of more than 85,000 professionals who serve clients in an array of industries including technology, financial services, energy, government, consumer and life sciences and health care. He is well-known for his advocacy for building an inclusive work culture and continuous innovation, and for encouraging his teams to “challenge orthodoxies” in order to take a nimble approach to problem solving. Deloitte, the largest professional services organization in the United States, has been one of the top recruiters of Notre Dame undergraduates for more than a decade. As part of Deloitte’s long-standing relationship with the University, the Notre Dame Deloitte Center for Ethical Leadership (NDDCEL) was established in 2011 to advance the understanding and implementation of ethical leadership practices in the corporate sphere. The annual Mendoza Dean’s Speaker Series features senior executives and other experts who discuss emerging issues affecting business and society. The series is sponsored by the Eugene Clark Distinguished Lecture Series endowment. On November 6, Arthur Brooks, best-selling author, columnist for The Atlantic and Harvard professor, will present the second lecture in the series. The talk, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 3:15-4:30 p.m. ET in Mendoza’s Jordan Auditorium. For more information, contact program manager Jean Meade.
