A Global Compact for Sustainable Development
On September 21, Pope Francis addressed global leaders at the United Nations, emphasizing the need to combat environmental degradation, offer compassion to those in need, and pursue peace. While some interpret his encyclical as critical of capitalism, he also acknowledged the positive role business can play in fostering a better world. Following his remarks, a forum brought together over 400 CEOs and heads of state, highlighting numerous corporate commitments to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, and the Notre Dame community is invited to explore these themes further at an upcoming conference on April 3-4.
