Mendoza MBA candidates named to Poets & Quants 'Best & Brightest' list 

Two University of Notre Dame MBA candidates were named to Poets & Quants' 2018 Best & Brightest MBAs list.

Alex Prosperi of Northbrook, Illinois, and Kyle Verash of Marshfield, Massachusetts, both in their second year at Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business, were among those selected.

"If there is one theme that bands these students together, it would be a social conscience," Poets & Quants noted. "The 2018 Class is composed of change agents who champion causes. They have heeded the call to tackle the big issues, applying business tools to pursue the greater good. It is a spirit that values service over self, action over assertion, and collaboration over commendation."

Prosperi, who has accepted a position at as an associate brand manager with Unilever after graduation, says he lives "with enthusiasm, love to learn, and value relationships more than anything.” As a first-year student he was a recipient of the Dean Woo Leadership Award, which recognizes an outstanding leader who has gone above and beyond to better the program, Notre Dame and classmates. He also served as president of the MBA Management Club and worked to increase collaboration among the MBA clubs on campus. 

“I had a hunch after my first encounter with Alex Prosperi that he was going to be an engaged MBA student; my hunch was not wrong," Andrew Wendelborn, associate director of Graduate Business Programs Student Services, wrote in his nomination letter. "Along with his genial personality, Alex brings uncommon energy to his pursuits – of which there are many." Read more about Prosperi.

Verash is an Army veteran who worked with several military and civilian organizations to construct treatment units in Liberia during the Ebola outbreak. 

Shawn Pulscher, associate director of Graduate Business Career Services, called him a "key contributor" to Mendoza's MBA community. He noted that Verash helped plan several high-impact events, including Mendoza's first-ever MBA Veterans Preview Weekend; was selected as a teaching assistant for the Career Leadership course where he mentored 25-first-year MBA students; and created "a preparation plan that helped 20 fellow ND students position themselves to succeed at the annual MBA Vets Career Conference."    Verash has accepted a job as a business and commercial development program analyst with Chevron. Read more about Verash.
