MSBA Experiential Learning

Four students stand side-by-side smiling in front of a white wall display featuring bright orange and yellow painted angel wings and the Catholic Charities of Orange County logo. On the left, a woman with blonde curly hair wears a sleeveless white top and dark skirt. Beside her stand two men in button-down shirts, followed on the far right by a man with glasses and a beard wearing a striped Notre Dame sweater vest. All four wear Notre Dame name tags.

Experiential learning is an integral part of the Notre Dame MSBA experience. Through immersive experiences like Grow Irish Week and a hands-on capstone project with a corporate partner, you’ll connect with industry professionals, apply your analytics skills to real business challenges and build valuable experience for your career.

Experiential Learning Options

A wide shot of a group of approximately twenty students gathered on a wooden rooftop deck overlooking a city skyline under an overcast sky. Bright blue picnic tables and chairs frame the foreground. The students, dressed in business casual clothes and wearing visitor badges, stand in a line smiling toward the camera, with high-rise modern buildings and a red construction crane visible behind them in the distance.

A eye-level shot of several business students walking forward together through a modern, brightly lit office hallway with marble flooring. In the center, a blonde woman wearing glasses, a grey cardigan, and a dark skirt smiles as she carries a notebook. To her left, a woman wears a brown-and-white patterned coat over a black dress, and to her right, a smiling woman in a black jacket and cream sweater holds a tablet. Glass-walled conference rooms with sleek executive chairs line the right side of the hallway.

    Capstone Project

Bring together everything you’ve learned in the MSBA through a Capstone project spanning Mods 3 and 4. Working with a corporate partner, you’ll apply your analytics skills to a real business challenge, developing data-driven insights and actionable recommendations. This project provides dedicated time and concentrated support to advance your project, giving you hands-on experience collaborating with an organization and solving the kinds of complex problems you’ll encounter in your career.

"My Grow Irish experience provided a unique opportunity to translate classroom learning into meaningful, real-world impact. This week challenged me to build resilience and refine my analytical and strategic skills while collaborating with my team to build a predictive model. Interacting with industry leaders deepened my understanding of how data drives decisions across organizations and reinforced the importance of adaptability and teamwork."
