WEAVING HOPE FOR REFUGEES

Josh and Anca Burke launched the Anka Cooperative to provide employment for Syrian refugees living in Turkish camps, creating high-quality, handmade rugs. After raising $100,000 through a successful Kickstarter campaign, the venture now trains hundreds of women, helping them gain skills and integrate into the community. Even from their new base in Romania, the Burkes continue to oversee the growth of Anka, which aims to employ thousands while promoting the impact of their unique, culturally rich products.
